A gentle 8-kilometer ride along the Nemunas with smooth surfaces, shaded areas, and riverside views. Perfect for beginners.

Valley View is the perfect next step once you've mastered the beginner routes. It's longer than Resort Park Circuit, but the terrain stays manageable — mostly gentle rolling hills without any steep climbs. You'll get a real sense of exploring further from town while staying on safe, well-marked paths.
The route takes you through some of Druskininkai's most beautiful countryside. You'll ride through open meadows, past small farms, and along quiet forest edges. It's not rushed. Plan for about 90 minutes at a comfortable pace, with time to stop and enjoy the views.
Start at the main cycling hub near the resort center. You'll head east through the quiet residential lanes, then open up onto the valley floor. Here's where it gets interesting — the landscape changes dramatically. You're cycling through wide-open meadows with views that stretch for kilometers.
The first 4 kilometers are almost completely flat. Perfect for warming up and finding your rhythm. Around kilometer 5, you'll encounter the first real climb — nothing steep, but noticeable. It's about 80 meters over 1.5 kilometers. You'll feel your legs working, but it's totally manageable at a steady pace.
Don't rush this section. There's a small shelter at kilometer 5.5 where you can stop and catch your breath. The views from here are genuinely spectacular — you can see the valley stretching out in both directions. It's worth taking 5 minutes here.
Before You Ride: Choose a cycling pace that matches your fitness level and experience. Check local weather and road conditions before heading out. If you have any health concerns or haven't cycled in a while, it's worth speaking with your GP before starting a new activity like this.
After the shelter, you'll enter a quieter section with more tree cover. This is genuinely pleasant — cooler temperatures, natural shade, and a real sense of being away from town. The path here winds gently through mixed woodland. It's still very easy cycling. No big hills, just rolling terrain.
This middle section (kilometers 6-9) is where you'll find most of the shade. It's really valuable on warm days. The path is well-maintained — smooth asphalt throughout, no gravel or rough patches. You'll pass a few small streams running under the path, and if you're cycling in spring or early summer, you'll see wildflowers along the edges.
Around kilometer 8, there's a small signposted rest area with a bench. Not essential, but nice if you need a break. Water your bike, stretch your legs, take a few minutes. The remaining 4 kilometers are your final push home.
You'll want a water bottle — at least 500ml. There are a couple of rest areas, but no shops or cafés along the route. Bring snacks if you prefer them. A banana or energy bar works well midway through.
